Survivor: The SF 2006-2007 TV Series Edition
I'm a big comic book fan, but I'm also a big SF fan (science fiction, fantasy, horror), especially the television flavor.

We are quickly approaching the Fall 2006-2007 season, plus the upcoming summer mini-season. Here is the current status of current and possible upcoming SF series.

Returning
The 4400, Battlestar Galactica, The Dead Zone, Doctor Who, Ghost Whisperer, Lost, Masters of Horror, Medium, Smallville, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate SG-1, Supernatural

Canceled
Alias, Charmed, Invasion (Could CW snatch it up?), Justice League Unlimited, Night Stalker, Surface, Threshold

New Shows (Confirmed)
Blade, Caprica, Day Break, Dresden Files, Eureka, Heroes, Jericho, Motel Man (limited series), The Prisoner, Raines, Torchwood

Possible New Shows (Not 100% confirmed, but possible.)
Aquaman (Mercy Reef), Firebrand, Masters of Science Fiction, Persons Unknown, Ultra

So, what do you think? Which of the possible new shows sounds best? (Check out the details on these at: http://scifi411.com/upcomingtv.html).

Which canceled show will you miss the most…or the least?

Of those, I only watch LOST and BSG, but I'll likely start watching Caprica, too. The others, eh, no so much. I watched the first few Invasions, didn't think that was all that great, though I've heard Smallville is pretty good.

Yeah, I also enjoy watching Lost and BSG. I'm really looking forward to Caprica. Invasion started extremely sloooowwwww, but became a really great show for the last half of the season. I have a love/hate relationship with Smallville. Smallville has great season finales, but tends to reboot all of the time.

I think Jericho could be a really great series, if done correctly. Jericho is about a group of survivors in a remote city trying to survive after a nuclear attack. Persons Unknown is a possible Scifi Channel series that sounds very Lostish. A group of people abducted to a deserted town. They don't know how they got there and they can't escape.

I'll miss Alias, for sure. Threshold was pretty interesting. I was sorry to see it go.

Hi Anthony,

I'll also miss Alias. I never really got into Threshold. It had a great cast and an interesting concept, but I found the writing to be kind of flat.

I've been missing Alias for 3 years now...

Hmmm...that can be taken different ways Bart. Do you mean you are not happy with the direction of the show after season two or have you really just not been able to catch the show in the last three years?

After season two I stopped watching Alias on TV and watched it on DVD. I think Alias is really better on DVD. Lost and BSG too, but I just can't wait that long to watch the next episode.

I meant the former. I think shows with overall stories (BSG and LOST are good examples, too) suffer when they run too long. Bitter enemies become friends, then lovers, then enemeies, then friends again. Bleah. I think Sloane should have disappeared, and Terry O'Quinn should have been on more.

I know what you mean Bart. I still enjoy Alias, but some of the storylines have gotten old. You are right about Sloane. What they did with him in, I think, season 4 made no sense at all. It was just an excuse to keep the actor around. Although I'll miss Alias, it is probably time for it to end.

I'm just waiting for us to find out that Lost is in the same world as Alias and that Sloane is the man pulling the strings. ;-)
